The White Squirrel

Brevard, North Carolina is home to the white squirrel (as well is being the “Land of Waterfalls”). In June I visited Brevard for the third time, hoping to spot a white squirrel for the first time! We were told to hang out on the lawn at the college in town and we would be sure to see some because there is a colony that lives there. We were told if we took nuts with us they would certainly come out.

Cold Water Flowers

A couple of years ago at the I Heart Handmade Market, I met Kate Stoner, from Cold Water Flowers. She was there with her sister selling beautiful dried flower arrangements, wreaths, and succulents planted in pumpkins. We got to talking and she offered for me to come sometime to take pictures in her garden. Waterfalls and the Blue Ridge Parkway

The TLC “Waterfalls” song is running through my head as I type this blog. Last week we went to Asheville, NC and did not visit the Biltmore Estate! Instead we ate our way around town and hiked to several waterfalls. I found some filters in my camera bag I forgot I had that would allow me to take pictures of the waterfalls and slow the shutter speed so that the water would appear more feathery and show more movement to the water.
