Kaitlin "Shadle" Michael

Hello! My name is Kaitlin Michael, the owner of Kaitlin Shadle Photography. (Shadle is my maiden name when all of this began.) I started my photography journey in 10th grade and continued to apply the basics that I learned in Photography 1 over the coming years. After college graduation I was encouraged by a friend to find a hobby that I really enjoyed, so I dove more into photography. When I took a teaching job in Buenos Aires, Argentina in February 2010, my parents bought a used Canon DSLR camera from a friend for me to take to capture my surroundings. (Tyler, your old camera changed my life!) Photography became very important to me over the almost 5 years that I lived there. I even began taking photography classes from a local retired photographer, Juan Carlos Franceschini, in 2011. We would go on outings monthly and gather weekly to discuss and improve our craft. I owe so much to my Profe, JuanCa as well as my photography friends.

I started Kaitlin Shadle Photography and www.kaitlinshadle.com as a way to share my images with my family and friends while living abroad in Argentina. After seeing my pictures, my aunt encouraged me to start making desk calendars with my photography - she had a friend that could teach me how, so I did and I have been making desk calendars since 2013. When I moved back to Pennsylvania I began making coasters and cards with my images as well and selling them at local vendor fairs. These were excellent ways for me to share my favorite form of photography - landscapes, macro, and other close-ups of things.
