This was the summer for road trips! In June my husband and I took a trip through Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine (just to grab lunch!), Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. Our highlights of the trip were Lake Champlain in Burlington, VT. While you are there, you gotta try the Lake Champlain Chocolates - SO good! We also toured Ben and Jerry’s because you have to while you are there, right? Also delicious. In New Hampshire we drove to the top of Mount Washington. It wasn’t terrible weather up there, but it also wasn’t very clear at the top, but it was a fun adventure anyway. We found a delicious lobster shack called The Bouy Shack in Badgers Island Kittery, Maine. I could not get close to the actual bouy shack that bordered the property of the restaurant because of the No Trespassing signs, but I got lots of pictures from various angles. Oh yeah and the lobster roll was worth a stop if you are driving through. It rained in the morning that we were in Newport, RI, so we toured the mansions and later walked the cliff walk for a bit. The mansions are always impressive and the cliff walk is fun to do. If you want any tips for a future trip to New England, shoot me a message, I’d be glad to provide some advice.
